IONIQ 6 N Preview
Hyundai’s N performance division is getting set to increase its offerings in a dramatic way with the track-capable 2026 IONIQ 6 N. As a follow-up to the IONIQ 5 N crossover, this racy sedan will demonstrate that high-performance EVs don’t have to sacrifice driver engagement for efficiency. Although it will not see extensive production numbers for consumer sales, the IONIQ 6 N will serve as a flagship for Hyundai’s electrified motorsports efforts, blending track-ready engineering with the modern profile of the standard IONIQ 6.
With up to 641 horsepower on tap and a suite of advanced N-specific features, the IONIQ 6 N will target established performance brands while redefining what it takes to be an electric sport sedan. Complete details and pricing are forthcoming. In the meantime, we’ve compiled what we know so far about this exciting performance vehicle.

The IONIQ 6 N will use a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive layout powered by an 84.0-kWh battery. Standard output is expected to reach 601 horsepower, with N Grin Boost temporarily raising output to 641 horsepower for 10-second bursts. Torque will peak at 568 lb.-ft., and Hyundai estimates a 0–60 mph sprint of approximately 3.2 seconds when launch control and boost are engaged. Top speed is projected to reach 160 mph.
Hyundai will use an upgraded power system to deliver more output than the standard IONIQ 6. The rear motor will handle most of the driving, with the front motor stepping in when extra traction or acceleration is needed. Drivers will also be able to adjust how power is split between the front and rear wheels, allowing the car’s handling balance to be tuned for everyday roads or track sessions.
Chassis and Handling
Hyundai is significantly reworking the IONIQ 6 platform to meet the N model’s performance capabilities. The automaker will revise the suspension to improve stability at higher speeds and increase cornering grip. Electronically controlled dampers will automatically adjust to road conditions and driving style, allowing the car to feel comfortable during daily driving while remaining firm and controlled on the track.
An electronic limited-slip differential will help put power down more effectively, while added chassis bracing will make the body stiffer and more stable. Larger front brakes with four-piston calipers and 15.7-inch rotors will improve stopping power, supported by a regenerative braking system that can provide up to 0.6G of deceleration. The sedan will ride on 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires.
Aerodynamics and Design
The IONIQ 6 N will stand out with wider fenders, sportier bumpers, and a prominent rear wing. These changes will increase downforce for improved stability at speed while maintaining a relatively aerodynamic car with a 0.27 drag coefficient. A slightly lower ride height will further emphasize its performance focus.
Color-wise, Performance Blue Pearl will headline the exterior palette, joined by Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Gray Matte, and Onyx Black Pearl. Buyers will also have access to N Performance Parts to enhance appearance and track capability.
Driver-Focused Technology
Hyundai plans to equip the IONIQ 6 N with a number of software-driven performance features. N e-Shift will mimic gear changes to create a more traditional driving feel, while N Active Sound+ will let drivers choose from different sound profiles. The N Track Manager system will allow drivers to create custom tracks, review lap times, and compare performance in real time against a previous best lap. The N Drift Optimizer will offer adjustable drift settings, and the N Battery system will precondition the battery for drag, sprint, or endurance driving to help maintain consistent performance.
Hyundai will also install its SmartSense driver-assistance suite, which adds features such as automatic emergency braking and highway driving assist. Fast-charging capability is expected to remain a strong point, with the battery expected to recharge from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger under peak conditions.
Interior Features
The cabin will feature a black interior accented with Performance Blue details, Alcantara-trimmed sport seats, and an N-exclusive steering wheel with dedicated drive-mode buttons. Look for aluminum pedals and knee supports to augment the driver-centric cabin.
