2026 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Hero

The Sonata Hybrid has been part of Hyundai’s lineup for 15 years, blending exceptional fuel economy and sedan comfort. For 2026, the automaker brings back the Blue trim that last appeared in 2023. This base edition offers more affordable access to the Sonata Hybrid while providing fuel economy of up to 56 mpg. Plus, Hyundai has upgraded what is now the mid-tier SEL trim with a standard panoramic sunroof. The new three-trim range is capped off by the Limited, which gets standard luxuries like leather upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats.

Every 2026 Sonata Hybrid features Hyundai’s signature warranty with five years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper protection and ten years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage. The company also includes three years of standard scheduled maintenance and five years of unlimited-mileage roadside assistance.

Trims and Powertrain

As we mentioned in the intro, the 2026 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is made in three trim levels: Blue, SEL, and Limited. All of them feature front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 39-kW electric motor; the combined output is 192 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission manages the powertrain. The Blue trim is EPA-rated for 47 mpg in the city and 56 mpg on the highway, while the SEL and Limited carry estimates of 44 mpg around town and 51 mpg on the open road.
