2026 Hyundai Kona Hero

The Kona’s combination of value and style has made it a winner in the subcompact crossover segment. This popular model named for the Hawaiian locale famous for its coffee has a streamlined lineup for the 2026 model year. Of the trims offered in 2025, only the base SE and top-of-the-line Limited remain. They’re joined by the new SEL Sport and SEL Premium, which replace the SEL, SEL Convenience, N Line S, and N Line. The SEL Sport incorporates elements from several of the outgoing trims, retaining the base powertrain and mixing in some desirable amenities. The SEL Premium gets the same turbocharged engine and 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters as the outgoing N Line trims, but with a more subdued styling. General safety has also been updated, with the expansion of forward collision-avoidance assist with direct oncoming pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection to all trims.

Like every new Hyundai, the Kona is protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and 3 years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections.

Trims and Powertrain

The four trim levels for the ’26 Kona are the SE, SEL Sport, SEL Premium, and Limited.
