Hyundai Palisade Trims Explained for Sale in Springfield, MA
Trims and Powertrain
The 2021 Hyundai Palisade is a full-sized SUV that seats either seven or eight passengers, depending on the configuration of the middle row (a pair of captain’s chairs or a three-person bench seat). It’s made in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy. Each gets a 3.8-liter V6 engine (291 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard for most trims, but the Calligraphy has standard all-wheel drive (available for the other trims). The FWD versions return an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway; those with AWD achieve 19 city/24 highway. In addition to an industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty (and 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage), Hyundai includes a 3-year/36,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan that covers oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections. Read on to see what you’ll get with each ’21 Palisade trim level.
SE and SEL
The SE has so many attractive standard features that you may forget it’s the base trim. The exterior has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and heated side mirrors. The interior includes a second-row bench seat (meaning up to eight passengers will fit), Rear Seat Quiet Mode (which silences the speakers in the second and third rows), an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming capability, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and five USB ports. Also included is an excellent suite of active safety technology (forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping and following assist, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, rear occupant alert, and rear parking sensors).
This trim adds a moonroof, roof rails, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and second-row captain’s chairs that reduce seating to seven (buyers have the option to choose the bench seat instead). A blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are provided as well.
The SEL is also eligible for two packages: Convenience and Premium. The Convenience Package will provide LED taillights, 20-inch wheels, front parking sensors, a hands-free liftgate, an auto-leveling rear suspension, a wireless smartphone charger, a 115-volt power outlet, third-row USB ports, and rear side-window sunshades. The Premium Package gets the features from the Convenience Package, plus highway drive assist, leather upholstery, an in-car PA system, a heated steering wheel, memory functions for the driver’s seat, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, heated second-row seats, an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, satellite and HD radio, navigation, and power-folding third-row seats.
The Limited bundles the features from both packages. It also has rain-sensing windshield wipers, a surround-view monitor, a blind-spot camera, a dual-panel moonroof, premium Nappa leather upholstery, a driver’s-seat leg-cushion extender, a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front and rear seats, a head-up display, and ambient interior lighting.
The Calligraphy is loaded up with all of the above, plus unique 20-inch wheels, distinctive front and rear fascias, a bolder grille, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, sophisticated quilted-leather door panels, and a microfiber headliner.
