Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Efficiency

Hyundai presents just two trims for the front-wheel-drive 2025 Sonata Hybrid, calling them SEL and Limited. Their efficient gas-electric powertrain pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 39kW electric motor to deliver a combined 192 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. As mentioned, this gas-electric variant of the Sonata Hybrid maximizes every drop of fuel with its EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 44 mpg around town and 51 mpg on the highway.

Prominent Features

The SEL has cloth upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, Digital Key 2, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, a 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback with a retractable armrest and cupholders, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, and dual USB-C ports. On its exterior, you’ll find a hands-free smart trunk, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights.

The Limited takes luxury a step further with genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient interior lighting, a 12.3-inch LCD gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED interior lights, and manual rear side-window sunshades.

SmartSense Safety Aids

Hyundai’s comprehensive SmartSense safety suite comes standard in the 2025 Sonata Hybrid, raising peace of mind with advanced features like forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection), lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, rear occupant alert, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, safe exit warning, and high beam assist. The Limited adds even more technology, including a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, a surround-view camera, Remote Smart Parking Assist, parking sensors (front, side, and rear), reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, and highway driving assist.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The ’25 Sonata Hybrid’s infotainment system is housed within a 12.3-inch touchscreen that’s used to manage Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. While the SEL comes with a more basic audio system, the Limited is upgraded with a premium 12-speaker Bose setup for superior sound quality, as well as integrated navigation. Both trims are compatible with Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car services, allowing you to stay connected to the vehicle through your smartphone.
