Model Year 2023 Updates

The Hyundai Palisade welcomes some substantial updates for 2023. Let’s start with the outside: It shows off a new bumper, revised headlights, upgraded wheel designs, and standard auto-dimming side mirrors. The interior has been gifted with a handful of noteworthy changes as well. For one thing, the 2023 Palisade is the first Hyundai to offer heated seating for third-row passengers. Its second-row seats can be optioned with wing-out headrests and ventilated seats for the ultimate comfort, too, and acoustic-laminated door glass comes on the Calligraphy trim to keep the ride truly tranquil. The operator will get to enjoy the most upgrades, especially with the debut of the Ergo-motion driver’s seat, which maximizes support and comfort on any length drive. The new Palisade also has an updated steering wheel that melds with the flowing design of the revamped instrument panel and audio interface. Not only that, but a digital rearview mirror is now available, enabling the driver to see behind without the interference of pillars, passengers, or cargo.

The infotainment system has been redone with a larger touchscreen and a Hyundai-first Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital Key 2 makes its debut as well, and the Bluelink remote vehicle access has been updated with climate settings, driver’s-seat position controls, enhanced maintenance information, and vehicle security indicators. Plus, the wired and wireless device charging speeds have been improved. The refreshed Palisade also boasts several upgraded safety systems that now use the latest technology for additional safety assurance and driver confidence. What’s more, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist is now standard, and Remote Smart Parking Assist is available. Topping off the list of changes for the 2023 Palisade is the all-new XRT trim level, which you can learn more about below.

Trims, Mechanicals, and Performance

The ’23 Palisade is a midsized three-row utility vehicle that comes in SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy trim levels. It gets its gusto from a 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 291 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque; that powerplant works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional. A new tow mode is included in conjunction with AWD; with trailer brakes, the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The ’23 Palisade is also rather efficient, achieving an EPA-rated 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with FWD; with AWD it returns 19 city/25 highway.

SE

This is the first model year that In-Car Wi-Fi appears in a Hyundai vehicle, and every Palisade trim has it, including the SE. This well-equipped base trim also has proximity entry, push-button ignition, LED headlights and daytime running lights, heated side mirrors with auto-dimming and integrated turn-signal indicators, front and rear skid plates, rear privacy glass, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a 12-volt power outlet, 60/40-split second- and third-row seats, and an underfloor storage compartment.

In the tech category, the SE has a haptic feedback steering wheel, five USB ports (one charging/data and four USB-C charging), and SmartSense, an assembly of advanced safety features. Those technologies are driver attention warning, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, safe exit assist, rear parking sensors, rear occupant alert, highway driving assist, automatic high beams, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, and forward collision-avoidance assist with car, pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection). The infotainment setup can be controlled using the ample 12.3-inch touchscreen or dynamic voice recognition. Its components are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and integrated navigation.

SEL

The SEL gets even more great amenities: LED taillights, LED interior lights, roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, Digital Key 2, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and a HomeLink universal garage door opener. The comfort factor grows with dual-zone automatic climate control, simulated leather seats, heated and power adjustable front seats, and a pair of captain’s chairs for the second row (reducing the passenger capacity to seven). The optional Premium Package adds a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, an in-car PA system, a sunroof, position memory for the side mirrors and driver’s seat, rear side-window sunshades, two third-row USB-C charge ports, 115-volt power outlets, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. It also fortifies the SmartSense suite with enhanced forward collision-avoidance assist with lane change and evasive steering assist, front parking sensors, Advanced Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera, and a blind-spot view monitor.

XRT

The XRT is an all-new trim level for model year 2023. It looks a bit more aggressive than the other versions of the Palisade, with its blacked-out exterior design, including trim-specific 20-inch wheels and lower door garnish, special skid plates and lower bumpers, a darkened grille, and black roof rails. The paint palette for the XRT is restricted to three colors – Steel Graphite, Hyper White, and Abyss Black Pearl – to emphasize this edgier personality. The sunroof also becomes a standard feature on this trim.

Limited

The Palisade Limited broke ground this model year as the first vehicle to come with heated third-row seats. It also gets the items listed in the SEL Premium Package, including the safety technologies (Advanced Highway Driving Assist, front parking sensors, surround-view monitor, and blind-spot view monitor), plus a dual-panel sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, leather seats, a thigh cushion extender for the driver, a mélange headliner, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a premium cargo-area sill plate.

Calligraphy

If a fully loaded vehicle is your preference, head straight for the Calligraphy. Its cabin is the ultimate, with Nappa leather upholstery, a super-comfortable Ergo-motion driver’s seat, quilted leather door panels, a microfiber headliner, a steering wheel enrobed in two-tone leather, acoustic-laminated doors, a full-display digital rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, the 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and second-row wing-out headrests. It also has puddle lights, special rear accent lights, satin chrome exterior trim, and the complete safety array with reverse parking collision-avoidance assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist (self-parking).
