2021 Hyundai Ioniq EV for Sale in Springfield, MA
We are officially in the age of the electric vehicle, and Hyundai has one of the best: the 2021 Ioniq EV. It stands out for its eco-friendliness thanks to its zero-emissions status, an EPA-estimated range of 170 miles, and a great-looking interior that uses bio-fabrics, recycled plastics, and other sustainable materials. Just as importantly, it has the looks and attributes that today’s drivers demand, including a full suite of active safety technologies and features for comfort, convenience, and connectivity. Hyundai sweetens the deal with an industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile warranty coverage on the powertrain and battery and 3 years/36,000 miles of complimentary tire rotations. One improvement for the 2021 model year is that wireless smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) is now standard.
Trims and Engineering
You can choose between two 2021 Ioniq Electric trim levels: the SE and Limited. Both get a 100-kW electric motor that makes 134 hp and a 38.3-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. EPA estimates indicate that this powertrain allows the front-wheel drive ’21 Ioniq Electric to travel up to 170 miles per charge. Using a standard 220/240-volt power outlet, the ’21 Ioniq Electric will reach a full charge in 6 hours and 5 minutes. At DC fast charging stations, 80 percent of the vehicle’s charge will be achieved in just 54 minutes.
The ’21 Ioniq Electric even has regenerative braking, which converts the wheel’s mechanical energy (created during the stopping process) into electricity to be stored in the battery for later use. You can continuously choose from three levels of energy capture according to your drive-style preference, from mild to aggressive. What’s more, the BlueLink mobile app includes charge indicators and charge scheduling so you can set your ’21 Ioniq Electric to charge during low-demand hours when electric rates may be less.
There’s no shortage of premium features included in both levels of the ’21 Ioniq Electric. The base SE comes with heated exterior mirrors, automatic headlights, a door handle approach light, keyless entry, push-button start, automatic temperature control, a rearview camera, BlueLink connected car services, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a center console USB charge port, a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback, and a rear center armrest with cupholders. The Limited adds LED headlights, power-folding exterior mirrors with puddle lamps, chrome door handles, a moonroof, a power driver’s seat with position memory, leather seats, a wireless smartphone charger, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, ambient interior lighting, floor console-mounted rear HVAC vents, and a cargo cover.
Technology and Safety
The Hyundai Ioniq Electric is stocked with up-to-the-moment technology features for both communication and entertainment. The SE has an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, class-exclusive wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD radio, and satellite radio. The Limited upgrades with a class-exclusive 10.25-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon deluxe audio system with Clari-Fi Music Restoration Technology. Smartphone integration changes to the conventional plug-in form, since the wireless version is not compatible with the larger touchscreen.
Ioniq Electric occupants will get added protection from Hyundai’s SmartSense driver-assist technology suite. In the SE, this includes forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, driver attention warning, and automatic high beams. The Limited gets a few more features: blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, and highway drive assist.
