Trims and Mechanical Features

All six Tucson trims are available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive and come standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC. The Tucson's two entry-level trims (SE and Value) both feature a 161 hp 2.0 four-cylinder engine delivering an EPA-rated 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The upper-level trims (SEL, Sport, Limited, and Ultimate) all come equipped with a 181 hp 2.4 four-cylinder engine that achieves an EPA-rated 22 mpg city and up to 28 mpg highway.

Technology and Safety

The 2019 Tucson prides itself with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 5-Star Overall Safety Rating and 2019 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick. Along with its full set of airbags and other passive safety features, all Tucson trims come with a backup camera and other advanced safety features such as lane keeping assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, and driver attention warning. In the higher trim levels, the vehicle also features a surround view monitor, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot collision warning. Other standard features include an anti-theft system with remote keyless entry and panic alarm, child safety locks, and bodyside reinforcements to ensure optimal safety.

The 2019 Tucson is big on connectivity with its infotainment system featuring a touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and front USB/AUX outlets. Other standard features include the 3.5 inch multi-information display, Bluetooth capability, steering-wheel mounted audio, and a 12-volt outlet. The upscale Infinity Audio system, available in the upper level trims, features eight speakers, as well as a subwoofer, to produce the high-level sound and clarity desired in a more loaded vehicle. The Tucson's varying packages range from $23,200 for the base SE Model up to $32,950 for the AWD Ultimate trim. AWD costs $1,400 more than the standard FWD and is available on every trim level.
